The Nathon Pier mainly serves the Seatran and Lomprayah ferry companies. There's a ferry departing for Donsak every hour between 5 am and 7 pm. Located on the west coast of Koh Samui, Nathon is the capital town of Koh Samui. It hosts all the official administration offices, as well as the main ferry pier on the island.
Samui's Nathon Pier comprises 3 jetties, 2 of which serve different ferry companies. The northern jetty is used by Seatran, while the central bridge – the largest and oldest jetty – is used by Lomprayah. The rather small southern jetty is usually used by fishing and long-tail boats. The 2 bridges dedicated to ferries have large waiting rooms to comfortably accommodate passengers. There are small shops selling drinks and snacks, but you can also find vendors selling local favorites such as barbequed squid and sausages.
Ferry traffic is quite intense at Nathon Pier, as it's linked to Donsak Pier (just south of Surat Thani on the mainland), Koh Phangan, and Koh Tao. The connection with the mainland is the busiest, as there's a ferry departure to Donsak every hour between 5 am to 7 pm.
There are several ways to reach your destination from Nathon Pier:
